This was Harwayes last shop in the city before closing in 2009 having previously been located in the Shopping Precinct and Bore Street.

In the the 1960’s the shop had a marble surround and was occupied by Currys - the friendly people - as they were known.

After Currys moved to Conduit Street in the 1970’s K Shoe Shop (Clarks acquired K Shoes in 1980), who were the business next door expanded into what was now a vacant shop.
