If you could transport the gentleman on the left to 2018 he would be looking in the window of the British Heart Foundation.

The right-hand side of Bird Street has changed very little in over one hundred years. The stonework on the building on the right along with the woodwork across the windows and doorway is still the same today

Lichfield Market place c. 1930 The building back of the post card is the Malt Shovel Hotel which is now a branch of Fatface (2018).

The card factory opened in 2010 taking up one of the two units left vacant after the closure of the new Post Office in 2009.

A one time Lichfield was a wash with many card and giftshops, Sarah Banbury’s like many others closed once peoples shopping habits began to change.  Tatlow Cards And Gifts opened at the location for a short time before that too...

Smart Ideas are a family run card and gift retailer which was founded in 1978 with the opening of their first shop in Droitwich in Worcestershire. The company is not linked in anyway to Hallmark cards.  

Hallmark Cards and The Works as they were in 2002. The works in located in the former Ironmongers shop Smith and Paker.The Works still remains at the location, but Hallmark closed in around 2015.
