For a long time it was the home of the Bakers Oven. Then in 1994 Greggs acquired Bakers Oven, its major rival bakery chain for £18.5 million in cash. initially they rebranded the shop as Braggs The Bakers but over time as Greggs began to faze out the name they renamed the bakery as Greggs. 

The Lichfield store was refurbished in 2013.
