The Johnsons was combined with Hall the butchers when both the shops closed to form one larger retail space.  The shop would have stood where the enterance to Superdrug is today.
Conduit Street
Conduit Street from around c1975. By now the sweet shop has become the Heart of England Building Society, H.C. Moore was closed and all boarded up. 
H.C. Moore - Chemist
Independent dispensing chemist believed to of closed in the 1970’s. The shop was boarded up and remained empty for sometime. Later to become The Leeds building society in the 1980’s and at a later date the Halifax.
Coiffeurs
The sweet shop and hairdresser, or Coiffers as the sign proudly displays was possibly the last retailer to occupy the address in Conduit Street before the location was used for banking.  Although the roofline and guttering is unchanged...
Farquhar Sweets and Groceries
Farquhar Sweets and Groceries store on Dam Street.  The Echo advertised at 3d, three pennies, was similar to Stork and popular for use in baking.
Only the Front Remains
Demolition of the old Kwik Save supermarket has continued into December, with only the listed front facade remaining. 
Naked Foods
Underwent a name change soon after openning to become Ecofoods. A sign in the window in November 2019 say the store will be shut until further notice.
Fortescues
