For many years the Market Square acted as Lichfields bus station. As you can see from the five in the picture.

Lichfield Market Square

The market square has been a focal point for many years in Lichfield, the square is home to the birthplace of  Samuel Johnson. The statue of Dr. Johnson that stands in the square was presented to the city by James Law in 1838.
